Our Story
Our Story written by Mark...
Lucy and Mark first made contact through Tinder, when Lucy super liked Mark’s profile. Mark then mistakenly swiped right on Lucy, they matched and made their introductions. After the initial super like and introduction however, Lucy then proceeded to try and play hard to get (a bit of a contradiction after the super like) for the next 2-3 weeks.
After those initial 2-3 weeks and multiple little challenges to gain her trust and her actual phone number, Lucy and Mark decided on a date to finally meet in person. The destination for this date was Dave and Busters in Livonia. Lucy did not want to be picked up for the date, as she feared Mark to be a Serial Killer, so instead they met there.
Once at Dave and Busters the challenges continued, with Lucy refusing to kiss Mark unless he could beat her (the former collegiate Basketball player) at a Basketball game. Unfortunately for her, she found out for the first time about Mark’s superior Athletic ability, as he proceeded to convincingly beat her to Win the first kiss!!
After the first kiss the challenges ended, the fear of death left her and Lucy then spent the rest of the night and the past 5 years hunting for ways to get “kisses” from Mark.
Our Story written by Lucy...
Once upon a time, there was a man named Mark Swinley. He was a normal guy, living a normal life--working by day, swiping right by night. One cold December would change his mundane life forever. He was swiping through Tinder--as you do in cuffing season. And that's when he saw her; Tenisha, 27, she was just on there to "get to know people" (whatever that means), and he knew he had to super like her profile. Mark's fingers started to sweat as he gazed at her beautiful Sepia filtered selfie. 'I don't want to be rejected. She is definitely out of my league...I am but a wee peasant.' He began to swipe left, but he thought back to his childhood. To hunting wild haggis in his kilt, and his proud father's wise words echoing off the Scottish hills: "Dunnae be ah wee dafty." So, he mustered up his courage, and swiped right. And as luck would have it, she swiped right too...It Was a Match!
For two weeks, Mark pursued Tenisha; he sent daily texts to chat, made jokes, and begged for a date. Some would say he exuded thirst. His persistence paid off when Tenisha finally agreed to a date (mainly to shut him up). The date was set, January 14 at Dave and Buster's. Mark was super nervous, he couldn't believe he had tricked this beautiful woman into a date! When she finally arrived fashionably late, all Mark could say was '...MMM!' Those Tinder photos did no justice to Tenisha's true beauty. Seeing how out of his league she was did not help Mark's nervousness. He was sweating like a pig during the entire date and constantly was visiting the bathroom to vomit.
The date was going extremely well. That was partially due to Mark's charm, and mainly due to the Tenisha's old best friend, Crown Royal Apple. After eating, drinking, and losing to Tenisha in all the arcade games, Mark kissed Tenisha for the first time. At that moment, when everyone else faded away and he focused only on her, Mark knew Tenisha was something special.
From that moment on the two were inseparable. Since that fateful December night, not a day has gone by where they haven't spoken to each other; and they wouldn't have it any other way.
No matter what the true story is, Lucy and Mark are the perfect match. They were destined to meet, fall in love, marry, and spend the rest of their lives together. The winding paths of life brought them together. Their love story truly goes to show that...
